I love this poetic commentary on modern relationships. As a single young adult, I feel this pain. I love your line “Cause that’s how we roll– with no dice.”
Has to be rated amongst your best!
Sometimes I get lucky. (in love?)
Brilliant. I’d be up for putting this on AlgebraOfOwls if you’re interested.
Certainly. I like your site and will be supportive of it.
Fantastic, thank you. I like poetry that explores traditional themes in the context of modern social norms and technology and this fits very well 🙂
Sips her coffee smiling, and wishing she had written this post. Well done! G-uno
We are all starving for love in the flesh, yeah. Great poem. Thanks.
So witty! 🙂
Good one! Only if i could catch a pokemon on your blog 🙂
Brilliant! And so true (sadly).
Man, this is just brilliant.
This has made my day! ” tweet the heat!”
Fu@% yeah. You nailed it on that one. I love the economy of words and depth of meaning. Social commentary on a huge scale but in few words.
This is so true, Thank you for writing this!
This is excellent, spot on sad, but true. Whatever happened to real talking?
EXACTLY what I was thinking. Am glad I read the comments to see someone else had a similar response. :o)
I’m one of those old fashioned folks who still prefers talking on the phone.
Ain’t that the truth – indeed!
This is so brilliant ! And it is not really satire either !
What it isn’t or should I say, ain’t that the truth. Thanks!
Bang on! And bingo! What a post!
Excellent work, masterful play on words, and sad commentary on our relationships have been reduced to “sound bites”. This is a piece that needs to be reread several times to get the full meaning. Wonderful!!
“We’re just like the news, baby”
This is almost the haiku version of the entire piece. Nice analogizing.
I love this poem it’s spot on! 144 characters is for Twitter?
Thank god for poetry.
144 words to tweet our heat, is perfect!
Another hilarious post. Too bad it’s true!!!!
Reblogged this on wwwpalfitness.
Terrific! The medium is the message.
Ahh! I see you’ve read (or should I say “seen”) McLuhan! Visual rhetoric!
So clever, I just loved this!
Ha! Good one.
Very cool. I don’t understand how love develops nowadays- I really don’t. My now ex partner and I echanged over 100,000 words in emails before we even met, and at least half as many once we did, and we still managed to part through mis-communication hahaha
You pinned modern relationships
Love it! My favorite lines: Boasts and all the toasts/ As well as that trip to the coast.
My Favourite of yours
I’m new to your site and of the recent posts I read, this is my favorite. It mentions all I love and hate about social media. I heard it recited by Maya Angelou in my head. My brain does that when I connect with something, plays audio.
Yes, Maya had a very distinctive voice. Thanks
Hahaha wow this is soo cool
This is awesome!

This is the reality of modern relationships. Spot on!
This is SO Good✌ “We only have 144 words to tweet the heat” and “We are just like the news baby, ain’t that the truth?” , are my favourite lines!
By golly, you’ve nailed it!! Cheers!
